A local twenty-something is creating a movement to engage millennials and the community. What’s Up Racine is a social re-branding initiative with the end goal of making Racine a destination city for young professionals, students, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
The group’s founder Megan Dorsey said: “We started this initiative because we saw a disconnect with Racine and its young population and a need for re-branding the area into a place people feel proud of and open to starting a life or business. We are a fun, diverse, multi-talented group of people passionate in getting the message out about Racine and what it has to offer.”
Dorsey works out of The Office at 410, a local coworking space for entrepreneurs.
“The Office at 410 is a great environment for co-working with like minded entrepreneurs and professionals who love Racine and what it has to offer.” she says. “It’s a great place to hold meetings and bounce around ideas. Our clients can expect a professional environment conducive to mapping out ideas, setting goals, and reaching desired outcomes.”
Dorsey has been collaborating with local business owners of all age, knowing that there’s no need to reinvent the wheel, though there is opportunity to improve it.
What’s Up Racine will host networking events, mixers, activism outreach, volunteer opportunities and community engagement events. You can visit their website and Facebook page for more info.
