Loretta A. Barrows, 101, passed away on Friday at her residence. Loretta was born in Racine on August 21, 1916, and was the daughter of the late John and Lena (nee: Milkie) Sura.
In 1936, Loretta married the love of her life, Ralph P. Barrows. They shared fifty five beautiful years together before Ralph passed away in 1991. Loretta was an active member and volunteer at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary in the gift shop. She also enjoyed her crafts group, Friends of Seniors and her Jolly Times Card Group.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law, Anne Barrows; grandson, Jeff Barrows; great granddaughter, Makayla Barrows; sisters-in-law, Bernice Barrows and Carol Frietag; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry; grandson, Mike; brother, Ted (Hilda) Sura; sisters, Joanna Eckert, Pat (Howard) Barrows; brothers-in-law, Guy Barrows and Carl Frietag.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.
