Mount Pleasant police say a 39-year-old man is facing felony theft charges after he embezzled over $40,000 from the recruitment office where he worked.
Officers say the man worked at Point One Recruiting, 8411 Campus Drive, in Mount Pleasant, and was responsible for placing employees at client businesses. For every successful placement, the man would be paid a commission, but the man didn’t report failed placements. Instead of refunding both the customer’s fee and his commission, the man would keep his commission.
He is also accused of falsifying documents on at least six occasions to indicate successful employee placements. As a result, he ended up skimming more than $40,000 from Point One.
The man has been booked into the Racine County Jail, and charges have been forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney’s office.
