Sturtevant police say a 25-year-old man they arrested Saturday night for his second drunk driving offense was back behind bars later that same night for his third offense.

SPD posted on their Facebook page that officers observed a car traveling west on Durand Avenue, and it was swerving into oncoming traffic. When police initiated a traffic stop, they took the driver into custody on a second operating while intoxicated charge.

A few hours later he was released into the custody of a sober driver, but just 15 minutes after his release, he was back behind the wheel.

This time, he was doing more than driving; police say he was warming up some pizza on the dashboard of his vehicle.

“The driver subsequently failed field sobriety testing and was arrested again for what will be third offense drug impaired driving,” the post concludes.
