A Racine man held up a Mount Pleasant gas station March 20, making off with cash, police say, and is now facing charges for his alleged actions.

Archie Wenger, 26, is charged with armed robbery, and is in custody on a $50,000 cash bond.

According to the criminal complaint, an employee of S.F. Petroleum, 2325 Racine St., called police at 9 a.m. to say the station had just been robbed by a man with a gun. Money, a cell phone and cordless phone were reported stolen.

The person who reported the robbery said the suspect was wearing a mask, holding a gun, and yelled “Give me money, Dude!” and took the phones.

The incident was captured on video, and a vehicle identified that helped police narrow down the suspect. Wenger was also identified in photo lineups and through the surveillance video.
