A 75-year-old Racine man is accused of sexually assaulting two teenage boys and trying to groom two more boys over the course of several years.
Dennis Kirt was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office Wednesday with second degree sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of same child, and four counts of child enticement-sexual contact. If convicted of all charges, Kirt faces up to 180 years in prison and/or fined up to $600,000.
Kirt is in custody at the Racine County Jail and is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
According to a criminal complaint, an investigator with the Racine Police Department received a referral from the Human Services Department about a possible sexual assault of a 17-year-old boy at Kirt’s residence.
The sexual assault allegedly happened in 2013. The boy told police that Kirt would show him pornographic videos, touch him inappropriately and perform sexual acts on him. Kirt also asked the boy to send him nude photos of himself, but the boy told police he did not send them.
Another 22-year-old man came forward in December 2015. The man told police that Kirt would let his friends come over to his house, and he would let them drink beer and smoke cigarettes with him. The sexual assault happened over a period of two years beginning in 2010.
Two of those friends confirmed the man’s story. They told police that Kirt would buy them beer and cigarettes, then have pornographic movies on the television in the basement.
Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch set a preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Dec. 22.
