A 45-year-old Racine man is facing 40 years behind bars after police say he inappropriately touched a teenage girl.
Jonathan Whitehead was charged Tuesday by the Racine County District Attorney‘s office with one felony count of second degree sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police were called Monday for a report of sexual assault. When they arrived, a woman told them her daughter called her to say Whitehead had inappropriate sexual conduct with the girl.
Whitehead remains in the Racine County Jail on a $500 cash bond and was assigned a $10,000 signature bond with orders to have absolutely no contact with the girl or her family. He will next be in court Feb. 14 for a preliminary hearing.
