UPDATE: Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch set a $1 million bond for the man, who is expected to be back in court for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Jan. 22 in front of Racine County Felony Court Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz.
Original Story: A 28-year-old man has been charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old boy and tying him up at his Caledonia home .
The man was charged with repeated sexual assault of a child, incest, child enticement, false imprisonment, and possession of marijuana. Each charge, except for the drug charge, also carried a persistent repeater enhancement because the man was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child in 2005.
If convicted of all charges, the man faces up to life in prison without parole plus nine years six months, and fined up to $220,000.
According to the criminal complaint, a four-year-old male relative of the man’s told his mother that the man tied him up on a bed, touched his genitals and had sex with him.
The boy’s mother told a detective with the Caledonia Police Department that the boy’s behavior had changed as he had a fascination with having things tied up.
The boy told the police that the man tied him up in the man’s bedroom and “locks the door on the person who is supposed to supervise the visitation.”
Caledonia Police searched the man’s home and found marijuana. The man told police that “something sexual happened,” but he denied having sexual contact with the boy.
