RACINE – The Racine Police Department is conducting a death investigation Tuesday after a man died in the hospital after being stabbed during a fight.

A 36-year-old man was brought to the emergency room Ascension-All Saints Hospital at 3:51 p.m. after being stabbed in the 1100 block of Grand Avenue. He died in the emergency room department, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.

“The party that was stabbed was transported to Ascension Hospital where lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced deceased,” the press release reads. “All parties involved were interviewed.”

Editor’s Note: This version of the story corrects several errors after Racine County Eye received inaccurate information. While the man died in the hospital, he did not die in the lobby. The lobby was not considered a crime scene. The emergency room was fully functional.
