A man was injured and taken to Ascension-All Saints Hospital for injuries he sustained during a house fire that happened Friday at 1644 S. Memorial Dr.

A neighbor called 911 after he smelled smoke and saw fire coming out of the first floor window, according to a press release by the Racine Fire Department.

When fire and rescue personnel arrived, they found Anthony Beringer inside the home near the front door. Beringer was transported to the hospital. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the center of the home, but it did extend through the roof.

No one else was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

 

The estimated loss is $60,000.
