Mount Pleasant police say a man accidentally shot himself in the behind Saturday while holstering his gun.
Officers were dispatched around 6 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 6000 block of Deerfield Road for a report of shots fired, a story in The Journal Times reads.
When police arrived, they found a man who said he’d been holstering his gun when he shot himself in the butt. The man was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
MPPD Sgt. Eric Relich said police are treating the shooting as an accident and said nothing criminal is involved.
