A Sturtevant couple is facing drug charges after agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit raided their home and found they were growing marijuana in the 2500 block of 90th St. on Wednesday.

The 59-year-old man and 59-year-old woman that lived in the home were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to deliver.

Charges have not yet been filed by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

The agents found almost 40 pounds of marijuana, marijuana plant material and schedule II narcotic medications inside the home after a search warrant was executed. Inside the garage, agents also found evidence of a marijuana grow operation that looked to have been recently dismantled, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.
