… we have a small favor to ask. Thousands of people have placed their trust in the Racine County Eye’s high-impact journalism because we focus on solutions-based journalism.

With no shareholders or billionaire owners, we can provide trustworthy journalism that focuses on helping readers.

Unlike many others, Racine County Eye’s journalism is available for everyone to read, regardless of what they can afford to pay. We do this because we believe in information equality. Greater numbers of people can keep track of events, understand their impact on people and communities, and become inspired to take meaningful action.

If there were ever a time to join us, it is now. Every contribution, however big or small, powers our journalism and sustains our future. Support the Racine County Eye from as little as $5 – it only takes a minute. Thank you.

Your contribution is appreciated.

Our friends at Woof Gang Rescue have some great dogs who deserve a furever home, so we’re going to start featuring pets up for adoption. This week, meet Ellie Jean:

Hey all my name is Ellie Jean! I am a 3-year-old pit bull mix. Yes, I’m 65 pounds, but I promise you will barely know I’m around. I am extremely low energy and do not require a lot of exercise. I am 100 percent housebroken and do not need to be crated. I don’t potty or chew in the house at all. I love to lay on the sofa or bed. I’m just a lazy girl. I am great with children and scared of the cats so I leave them alone. I would prefer to be the only dog but am good with bigger lazy dogs like myself. I do not like little dogs. But I am super friendly and passive and would just like a furever home to lay around in. Could that be you? Apply today!

Ellie Jean is available for adoption through Woof Gang Rescue. Click here to fill out an application.
