Takeela is a tiny 7-year-old chihuahua with a big heart, and he’s ready to find his fur real furever family.

The folks at HOPE Safehouse tell Racine County Eye that Takeela had a human family, but he was surrendered with terrible dental problems that led to the removal of all his teeth save one.

“His humans abandoned him with such horrible infected teeth, we had to remove all but one. Maybe we should call him snaggletooth,” they tease.

Despite his less-than-ideal life up to this point, Takeela is described as “sweet as heck.”
