Law enforcement officials are warning Racine and Mount Pleasant residents about a rash of burglaries that happened near the area of Lathrop Avenue and Chicory Road.

Officers with the Mount Pleasant and Racine police department have taken five reports of burglaries over the past month and a half. One of the burglaries happened in Racine. The other four occurred in Mount Pleasant, according to a press release.

The suspect or suspects entered the homes through front doors, garage service doors and windows.

“We are asking residents to make sure they are securing their vehicles and residences and to be vigilant when coming and going from their residences,” said Sgt. Jason Vaccaro, of the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

The department is recommending that residents check that outside lights are working properly and leave them on during night time hours.

If you see anyone or anything suspicious in the neighborhood, call 911.

At this time, detectives are continuing to investigate the cases.
