It took officers from four police departments to break up four fights at a bar in the 2100 block of Racine Street. early Sunday morning. Two people were arrested.

Police at 2:19 a.m. Sunday were called to the tavern for reports of multiple fights. When officers arrived, there were four fights going on at the same time; one inside, two outside, and one in the parking lot. Officers from Mount Pleasant, Racine, and Wind Point police departments along with deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department responded to try and restore a semblance of order.

One man had to be pepper-sprayed while he fought with an RCSD deputy and was taken into custody. It was also discovered he had active warrants and was the primary instigator of the fights. One woman was also taken into custody because of her active role in the fights.

They are being held at the Racine County Jail on pending charges. The man faces battery, resisting arrest, and two charges of disorderly conduct, and the woman could be charged with disorderly conduct.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
