The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement. This notice is in addition to the wind advisory that was issued earlier today by the National Weather Service. The Special Weather Statement is effective now until 8:15 p.m. and will affect multiple counties including Racine and Kenosha Counties.

Along with Racine and Kenosha Counties, Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Lafayette, Green Rock, and Walworth counties should take this statement into consideration.

A burst of moderate to heavy snow is expected. The snowfall will be accompanied by an arctic cold front between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Snow showers will drop visibility to 1/4 – 1/2 mile. According to the National Weather Service, this could result in quick snow accumulation that is expected to be under an inch of snow. However, these weather conditions could result in driving delays and hazardous traveling conditions.

If you are commuting, slow down while driving. Dress appropriately for the current conditions.
