A new Chick-Fil-A restaurant is planned for the 5200 block of Washington Avenue, but when it will open has not yet been determined.
Village of Mount Pleasant officials announced the new restaurant on the village’s Facebook page with a simple, “Coming soon.”
The new restaurant would be only the fourth free-standing Chick-Fil-A in the state. The existing store at Regency Mall is not slated to close, according to an employee who answered the phone Thursday.
Company representatives are expected to appear before the village Planning Commission next week, Logan Martin, community development coordinator, confirmed.
If plans move forward, the new Chick-Fil-A will be built in front of the strip center that houses Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly, Xperience Fitness, Rogan’s Shoes and Big Lots.
