Sturtevant residents are invited to a public information meeting Monday to talk about future development districts in the village, including a focus on the Highway 11 corridor.

The closure of Sturtevant’s successful tax incremental financing district next year means Sturtevant trustees are looking at establishing new districts to keep the development ball rolling.

At a meeting in September, Village Engineer Jeff Seitz said there are two potential districts that should top the list:

  • Along Highway H moving south about a half-mile from Durand Avenue because infrastructure for sewer and water already exists as well as north along West Road; and
  • On Highway 11 between Willow Road and Highway H including Wisconsin Avenue and Charles Street

Both the village board and members of the Community Development Authority will be present to talk with residents about ideas for future development.

The public information meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday at Village Hall, 2801 89th Street. Call (262) 886-7200.
