The Mount Pleasant Planning Commission Wednesday approved the site plan for a proposed 93-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites on the East Frontage Road at I-94.

According to the executive summary distributed to commissioners, the existing Holiday Inn Express recently lost its Holiday Inn franchise and will be rebranded with the construction of the new property.

NRE Hospitality of Georgia is the developer behind the new hotel. It will be four stories tall, include 93 guest rooms, and is expected to open in June 2017.
