Bakery production crews will soon crank out kringle at the new O&H Bakery on Washington Avenue.

The building isn’t complete yet, but construction continues on what will be a new production facility to keep up with the increase in online orders and a store that highlights the history of kringle and Danish artisan bakers who have kept the tradition alive.

Peter Olesen from O&H Bakery told Racine County Eye that construction is moving along nicely, and, weather permitting the ovens will start running later this spring.

“The project is progressing well, and our teams are very excited to get in yet this spring,” he wrote in an email. “Weather permitting, we anticipate baking to begin in May or early June.”

The store should be open this summer, but Olesen said a date hasn’t yet been set.

Original timelines called for the building to open this spring.
