Mount Pleasant trustees Monday approved a new senior apartment development behind Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.

The new complex will feature up to 60 units and is expected to open in the next couple of years, a story in The Journal Times reads.

Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society – a 90-year-old organization – is the developer, and they plan to apply for grants through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority to fund the project. That process can take years, the story reads.

Nearby residents worried about increased traffic were told that Ridge Avenue would not be extended, which should alleviate some of their concern, the story continues.

The newspaper is reporting that neighbors to the south of the complex will also get some protection with the preservation of a ridge line.
