Let’s get together and support community journalism.

Racine County Eye, in partnership with the Local Media Foundation, is hosting a community news fundraiser so that we can focus our attention on producing journalism that serves.

The event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Social on Sixth, 324 6th St. I’ll give a presentation about our organization, and we’ll have a silent auction and a wine raffle. Heavy appetizers and light refreshments will be served. We’ll also have a cash bar.

Tickets are $55. Or if you can’t join us but want to support our work. Click on the link below.

Why are we hosting a fundraiser?

Funding a news website costs about $250,000 a year.

With four employees and three freelance writers, we write about businesses, development, schools, elections, and government. Our business model includes revenue from media foundations, advertising, and subscriptions. That’s how we fund journalism, which benefits the community by keeping the public informed.

But, like many businesses, it’s been a bumpy ride. So we partnered with the Local Media Foundation to create a community news fund to power our investigative journalism projects.

If our work is essential to you, please contribute to the fund.
We are looking for silent auction items as well. If you are interested in donating one, please email denise@racinecountyeye.com.
