Crews from Union Pacific Railroad are on the scene of a minor train derailment near Willow Road and Durand Avenue.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. Tuesday, and no one was injured, UP Rail spokesperson Mark Davis confirmed.
“This was a local train serving customers in the area,” he said. “Two wheels on the locomotive and one wheel on a railcar derailed. Everything remained upright.”
The cause of the derailment is under investigation. Davis was not able to confirm how many cars made up the train.
Clean-up was expected to take several hours, but Willow Road was reopened to traffic by 7:30 p.m.
