High school football coaches play an important role in the lives of their students, and now they can be recognized for the impact they have on and off the field.
U.S. Cellular launched The Most Valuable Coach program last week to honor top football coaches for their work at the annual Under Armour High School All-America Game on Jan. 1, 2017. Their schools will also receive $5,000.
Members of the Racine community should visit https://themostvaluablecoach.com/ to nominate the football coach they feel deserves the title of “most valuable.”
Entries will be accepted through Oct. 3, and voting runs through noon (Central Time) Oct. 17. Only two coaches from across the country – and their schools – will be chosen.
The company is working with University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic Director and College Football Hall of Fame Coach Barry Alvarez.
“The coach’s role extends far beyond the sidelines, and through this program, U.S. Cellular is looking for the coaches who are helping to shape the future members of our communities by acting as teachers, friends and mentors to high school students,” Alvarez said in a written release from U.S. Cellular.
