He was united in marriage on May 4, 1963 in Sturtevant to the love of his life, Yolanda Fernandez. Together they shared fifty-two beautiful years together and built a family they both adored. Fred was retired from Bane Nelson and employed at various construction companies throughout the city for many years. He was proud to have helped build the Regency Mall and parts of Wheaton Franciscan Hospital. He was a member of the Local Union #113. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his cars in the garage, making repairs around the house or tending to his garden. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Fred always loved and looked forward to the annual family reunions with his siblings. A generous and kind hearted man, Freddy was always willing to help others in need.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St.. With Rev. Steve Varghese officiating, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31 at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
