Eleon Thomas, 90, passed away on Wednesday at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. She was born in LeFlore County, Mississippi on August 19, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Fred Sanders and Laura Neal.
Eleon attended Nursing School in Chicago, Illinois and on May 5, 1962, she was united in marriage to Corlethus Thomas. They moved to Racine where Eleon was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching horse racing, traveling, quilting and knitting. Eleon was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her husband, Corlethus; sisters, Beulah (Eugene) Walker, Louella Hunt all of Moorhead, MS; sisters-in-law, Alice Rice, Beatrice Robinson, and Ruby Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A Home-going celebration will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
