Monroe was employed for forty-four years, first with Standard Foundry and lastly with American Motors, retiring in 1974. His true passion was working on cars, but he also enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and watching westerns.
He will be dearly missed by his former wife and mother of his children, Rev. Dorothy H. Jackson of Racine, his children, Gail Young of Orlando, FL, Marilyn Jackson, Tony (Carmen) Jackson, Wendell Jackson, all of Racine, Myron Jackson of Cudahy, Rhonda Jackson of Racine; 8 grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his six brothers; six sisters; and his granddaughter, Vista Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St.. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St.
