Ruby M. Tomasek, 88, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Ruby was born in Racine, October 13, 1927, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Nee: Hric) Pavlik.

On July 20, 1957 she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Tomasek, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2002. They shared 45 wonderful years together and spent their retirement in Punta Gorda, Florida. Ruby was employed with the F.B.I. for 31 years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Racine Yacht Club. Her pastimes included boating, golfing, and traveling, especially to the Orient and Europe.

She will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary Purdy, Janice Tomasek, James (Gerri) Tomasek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia (Morris) Olson; brothers-in-law, Frank, John, Edward, and Carl Tomasek; and Frank Purdy.

With Rev. Jakes Voker officiating, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church have been suggested.
