Sam Glenn Vetter, age 40, passed away Tuesday after encountering a courageous battle with cancer.  Sam was born in Racine, August 4, 1976, son of Terry and Cynthia (Nee:  Wiese) Vetter.

Sam was a graduate of Walden High School “Class of 1994”.  He was employed as a chef at Salute’s for twenty-two years.  He had a great love for music and in his younger years he enjoyed skateboarding.

He will be dearly missed by his parents, Terry and Cindy Vetter; his brothers, Matthew Vetter, Ryan Vetter (Chevelle); his significant other, Amy Zielke; nephews, Brandon, Damon, Chance, and Seth; aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends; and his four legged companions, Roxy, Sid, and Sandy.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert (Jane) Wiese, Glenn (LaVerne) Vetter; cousin and best friend, Robert DeGarmo.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.

Sam’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Choi and Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
