Valerie M. Pavlik, age 85, passed away Thursday at Primrose. Valerie was born in Racine, September 12, 1931, daughter of the late Bart and Viola (Nee: Reau) Dushane.
Valerie was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1949”. In 1950 at the Hamilton Beach Company she met the love of her life, Edward L. Pavlik. On July 1, 1950, they were united in marriage and shared fifty-nine beautiful years until his passing, May 1, 2009. Valerie was employed by Twin Disc for 27-1/2 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Valerie belonged to the Red Hat Club Girls of ’49 and enjoyed crocheting, camping, square dancing, and spending winters in Hawaii and Florida.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Sesso of Minneapolis, MN, Edward “Butch” L. Pavlik Jr. of Racine, Theresa (Randy) Seyferth of Racine; grandchildren, Keegan Pavlik and fiancée Marina Jovanovich, Matt Seyferth; great-grandsons, Bohdi and Tenzin Pavlik; other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Reverend Ricardo Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday at the church 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
