Surrounded by her loving family, Yvonne C. Godard, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at her residence. Yvonne was born in LaCrosse, WI, October 15, 1931, daughter of the late Peter and Estella (Nee: Harnisch) Bicha.

On September 5, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Godard who preceded her in death, January 19, 1994. In her early years, Yvonne owned and operated a consignment store, Hand N Heart and was also employed by several real estate offices. Lastly she was the President of Yvonne Godard Realty for a number of years.

She served as president of the Board of Realtors and was named “Realtor of the Year” in 1987. Above all she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Kathleen (Joseph) Makowka, Sarah (Marie) Godard, Mary Godard (Patrick Wait), Steven (Beth) Godard; eight grandchildren, Michael (Holly) Makowka, Theresa (Andrew) Jensen, Brian (Emilie) Berthelsen, Joseph Rasmussen, Vanessa Hall (Nicole Turner), Tiffany Hall (fiancé, Jason Perez), Jennifer (Shirley) Crowe, Amanda (Lee) Mallett; eleven great-grandchildren, Ella Ann Makowka, Natalie, Brian and Adrianna Berthelsen, Jace Rasmussen, Dylan Hall, Parker Benoit, Alejandro Cervantes, Neveah Crowe, Shalyn Gaal, Liam Mallett, Anna Hernandez; brother-in- law and sister-in- law, Raymond (Jutta) Godard; special dear friends, Scott (Lisa) Wilde and their children, Paige, Brooke and Casey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five sisters; one brother; and her companion, Delroy Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or to the Wisconsin Humane Society have been suggested.
