Real Racine is proud to host a new, all-ages running event – The Olympian 5k/10k on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The 5k/10k starts and finishes at Pershing Park, 800 Pershing Drive, and covers a course along the lakefront and Downtown area. Registration and packet pick up begins at 7 a.m. The 10k run starts at 8 a.m. followed by the 5k run/walk at 8:15 a.m.

There will no parking allowed along the race course starting at 2 a.m. Saturday. Traffic will be temporarily affected at some Downtown intersections between approximately 8 and 10 a.m. Please watch for law enforcement personnel directing traffic.

“We are very excited to partner with Wisconsin Senior Olympics (WSO) on this run, which is WSO’s first ever event for all ages,” said Kari Dawson. Real Racine events director. “The overall goal is to promote fitness, regardless of age.”

The local event is supported by the Racine/Kenosha Senior Fitness Coalition.

The registration fee is $25 for the 5k run/walk and $35 for the 10k run. Both the 5k and 10k are available at $15 for participants ages 50 and older. A toddler dash, set for 9:15 a.m., is free. Registration is now open at: www.wisseniorolympics.com
