The City of Kenosha has issued a snow emergency. The snow emergency will go into effect on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, starting at midnight and will remain in effect until midnight on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022. In addition to this alert, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory. This advisory additionally applies to Racine County.
“The City will declare a ‘Snow Emergency’ when snow conditions have reached a depth of four inches (4″) or when the City determines the snow is causing hazardous driving conditions,” according to the City of Kenosha’s website.
Parking Restrictions
The snow emergency is only applicable to the City of Kenosha. This notice indicates that parking is prohibited on all streets within Kenosha city limits. Parking is not allowed until the order is lifted.
However, the City of Kenosha does allow overnight parking in the designated downtown and uptown city parking lots. This aims to alleviate the burden of finding parking during a snow emergency. The City of Kenosha’s downtown parking lot is located on 54th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The downtown parking structure is located on 56th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
