The deck of a home appears to have been blown off, and the damage may have been caused by what residents in the neighborhood reported was an explosion.

Racine firefighters responded at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to the 1400 block of Melvin after dispatch reported 911 calls about an explosion and a fire.

When crews arrived, they saw several small, spot fires on the exterior of the house. There was damage to the exterior siding, and the wood deck at the rear of the home had been blown 10 feet away.

The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation. No one was injured.
