A deputy who stopped a vehicle on suspicion of a license violation ended up searching for marijuana after reporting an ‘overwhelming odor’ of cologne or body spray, and seeing dryer sheets stuffed into air vents.
After the traffic stop, Ozie Brown Jr., 30, was ultimately charged with possession of marijuana.
According to the criminal complain filed against him in Racine County Circuit Court, this is what the deputy reported:
As the deputy went up to the vehicle, despite the masking scents, he detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Brown was the passenger, and there were three children in the rear seat. The driver appeared “overly nervous,” the complaint states, and the deputy asked her to step outside and asked her where the drugs were located.
She said that Brown had given one of the children a baggie of marijuana to hold.
The deputy found he marijuana with the child, as well as additional drug paraphernalia in the car.
Brown is in custody on a $300 cash bond.
