A Racine woman was caught stealing over $3,000 from the Papa Murphy’s Pizza restaurant she worked at using bogus refunds, according to a criminal complaint by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

Jessica Collier, 32, entered fake food refunds while working at Papa Murphy’s Pizza on 4 mile Road and Douglas Avenue in Caledonia.

The owner became suspicious in March of 2016 after noticing the store was doing triple the amount of refunds as other locations. Upon viewing security footage, Collier was seen entering fake refunds, and sometimes fake orders, and pocketing the cash. In the course of one week during Feb. 2016, Collier stole about $224 dollars using the refund scam, according to the complaint.

Ultimately, Collier stole $3,308 between Sept. 2015 and March 2016. She’s charged with theft in a business setting.
