Get your grocery shopping done, enjoy a great lunch with a piece of a 100-foot sub and help out two local organizations at the same time.
Paws for Lunch features a 100-foot long sub sandwich and the Patrick Cudahy Quartet to raise money for both the Wisconsin Humane Society and We Are Racine.
For $4, supporters can feast on four inches of the sub, chips and a drink. All proceeds will benefit WHS and WAR.
WHS recently oversaw the adoption of 66 animals – 62 dogs and four cats – after they were rescued last month from deplorable conditions at a kennel and two residences. Before families could adopt their new family members, though, Humane Society veterinarians had to nurse them back to health.
We Are Racine is a grass-roots community organization dedicated to improving the lives of city residents one block at a time. Currently, WAR is headquartered on Jacato Drive where volunteers run an after-school program and a summer day camp for the children who live there.
Paws for Lunch is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly, 5201 Washington Avenue.
