Folks who work too far to drive to Taylor Avenue for lunch but love Pias’ pizza will soon get their fill when Jimmy’s Food & Deli opens inside Village Food & Liquor Mart in Sturtevant.

The Journal Times is reporting that Jimmy Noble, a co-owner of Pias’ Pizzeria on Taylor Avenue, will open his deli later this spring and serve pizza using Pias’ recipe.

Noble and his ex-wife ran the original deli in the mart, 8929 Durand Avenue, before selling it as part of their divorce, and that owner sold the operation late last year, the story continues.

In addition to sandwiches featuring fresh cut deli meats, the menu will also include salads, pizza, and, eventually, ice cream as well. There will be seating for 16 guests at a time, and Noble told the newspaper he anticipates a fairly regular lunch crowd from both first and second shift workers from area companies.

Jimmy’s will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays.
