Mount Pleasant police say a 21-year-old man threatened his father with a knife, ran from police and then tried to hurt himself while officers transported him to the Racine County Jail.
At 11:06 a.m. Friday, police were called to the 2700 block of Eaton Lane for a report of a man armed with a knife who threatened his father then fled the area on foot still armed. Officers searched extensively for the man and located him nearby on Rapids Drive.
The man was disarmed, and during a search of his person turned up a small bag of marijuana.
While police were transporting the man to the Racine County Jail, he began thrashing violently in the back seat of the squad car so officers transferred him to a Mount Pleasant police paddy wagon. The man was safely delivered to RCJ without injury.
The man was booked in jail on a felony charge of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety as well as counts of disorderly conduct-domestic abuse, marijuana possession, and resisting arrest.
