Once again, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant police officers and crew members from South Shore Fire will need “rescuing” from the roof of Dunkin’ Donuts.

From 6 to 11 a.m. Friday, officers and firefighters/paramedics will get stuck on the roof of Dunkin’ Donuts and only donations for Special Olympics from the community will save them. The event focuses attention on the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and it raised $38,000 across the state in 2014.

Both the Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant locations are participating.

In exchange for a donation, citizens will receive a free medium hot or iced coffee coupon.

In addition to our education features, we’ll be kicking off a series of stories highlighting how parents, students, and educators are adapting to the impact of COVID-19 on education.
