Mount Pleasant police say a couple is facing domestic abuse charges after an argument turned violent and the woman stabbed the man in the chest.
Officers say they were called at 3:53 a.m. Sunday to the 1200 block Lawndale Avenue for a report of a 32-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest, allegedly by his 36-year-old girlfriend.
Racine County Eye is not naming the parties because they have not yet been formally charged.
Police say they learned the couple had been arguing when the fight turned violent and each of them threatened the other with a knife. Both had been drinking.
After the man was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s for treatment of his wounds, he and the woman were both booked into the Racine County Jail on charges of 1st degree endangering safety; battery, domestic abuse; and disorderly conduct, domestic abuse.
