UPDATE: Power has been restored to almost 5,000 We Energies customers at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The outage last about 75 minutes and was caused by an equipment issue, according to We Energies spokesperson Cathy Schulze.
ORIGINAL STORY: We Energies is reporting a power outage in the city of Racine affecting approximately 4900 customers. The outage began around 12:15 p.m. The cause of the outage is unknown and the area affected is bounded by Yout Street, 20th Street, Lake Avenue, and Osborne.
Power is expected to return by 2 p.m.
