Area residents interested in praying together for those killed last week in Dallas, Louisiana and Minnesota are invited to attend a prayer vigil at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Monument Square.

Organized by Rev. Tony Larsen from Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, the vigil will include prayers and songs to honor the police officers gunned down in Dallas as well as for the end of violence in our communities “and the loss of life of so many African American men.”

Racine resident Nick Demske posted a Facebook event about the vigil because he knows “many of us want this and need this,” he used social media as a way to quickly spread the word.
