The Racine/Kenosha chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is taking applications for beds. Children between age 3 and 17 who do not have a bed and live in the Racine and Kenosha area are eligible to receive a free bed, complete with mattress, sheets, comforter, and pillow. You can request beds for your family or you can refer someone who you know that needs a bed. Requests must be made on the website: https://www.shpbeds.org/request-bed
Beds are built by volunteers on “Build Days”, where raw lumber is turned into finished bunks (single beds are also available). All funding is by donation.
Our first build day, June 9, is fully staffed, but interested parties can sign up to receive information on upcoming builds at http://shorturl.at/eoqr8
The Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit organization that provides beds for kids in need. Volunteers build, assemble, and deliver each bed.

In addition to our education features, we’ll be kicking off a series of stories highlighting how parents, students, and educators are adapting to the impact of COVID-19 on education. If this is important to you, please consider donating to our education reporting fund. https://business.facebook.com/donate/1846323118855149/3262802717172659/
