Racine-based Marlo, Inc. is expanding for the third time since it opened its South Street location in 1977, this time adding a total of 75,000 square feet.

Marlo manufacturers large-scale water treatment equipment.

Biz Times Milwaukee is reporting that construction is well underway on 65,000 square feet on the manufacturing space and 10,000 square feet in the office. The additions will effectively double Marlo’s footprint in Racine and are valued at around $4 million.

“We’ve been out of space for a couple years now, and we’ve just been managing it,” Marlo’s President and COO Steven LaMere told the paper.

The Marlo expansion includes the buildings as well as necessary equipment, the story continues, and is funded without any financial incentives from either local, regional or state programs.

Marlo has a current workforce of 75 employees, and we have a message into LaMere about whether or not the company’s expansion includes additional workers.
