The Feb. 16 primary election is just a few weeks away, and there are a number of races where voters will have to narrow the field down to just two candidates. Racine County Eye and the Racine Taxpayers Association are once again getting together to host candidate forums for government bodies where there are primaries and, before the April 7 general election, where there are contested seats. The first forum scheduled is Feb. 11 for the Mount Pleasant Village Board. Incumbent Trustees Anna Marie Clausen and Rick McCluskey are being challenged by two and three newcomers, respectively. Trustee #2: Rick McCluskey (i) Terri Isaacson Ken Otwaska Don Schulz Trustee #6: Anna Marie Clausen (i) Jon Hansen John Martini Once the final two candidates for each seat are determined, there will be final forum to which Trustee Gary Feest and his challenger, Jim Kusters, will also be invited. The Mount Pleasant primary trustee forum is from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive.
