Going solar is paying off for a number Racine residents. About 14 Racine-area residents had solar panels installed on their homes a year ago as part of a co-operative buying program. And now they are seeing the savings. The Southeast Wisconsin Solar Group Buy, formerly known as SolaRacine, organizes co-operative buys in the region. The co-operative is one of the projects Greening Greater Racine is working on in the greater Racine area. Tom Rutkowski, one of the organizers and a member of the Greening Greater Racine energy committee, serves as the contact person for the contractors. The project includes informing the public on why solar is a practical and cost-effective way to generate energy for homes and businesses. Click here to find out more about the project. The deadline this year to schedule an appointment is July 28. Video by Matt Binetti
