Nonprofit Mission and Vision Statements
The Racine Interfaith Coalition (RIC) is a group of diverse faith communities working together to address the root causes of social injustice and poverty in the Racine community. RIC does this through community organizing, education and the application of our common faith values to the structures, systems, and laws of our society.
- All people share in the wealth of the earth
- People see each other as sisters and brothers
- Disputes are resolved peacefully in which adversaries are reconciled
- People are willing to sacrifice for the good of others
- A just society: human rights are upheld; people live in respectful relationships with each other and the earth
- A compassionate society: a community of people acting with and for those who suffer
Please provide a paragraph or so about what your organization does in the community. Include any recent achievements, projects, and goals.
The Racine Interfaith Coalition is an organization of 28 congregations committed to promoting social justice through training and empowerment of people of faith.
Our latest achievement would be the success of our Youth Task Force event “Grub on a truck”. Youth members focusing on food deserts in the Racine community distributed groceries to the Racine community at three different locations.
What would you like the general public to know about your organization and ways they can help/support you?
RIC’s voice is needed today more than ever. RIC’s voice must be heard in City Hall, at the County Courthouse, in Madison, and on our streets. The voice of compassion and fairness must ring out. Wisconsin needs to hear that people of faith are people who care about racial and economic justice; that RIC will stand up for our children, our elderly and those who are in need.
With your help, RIC can continue to have its own staff that can reach out to every sector in our City. RIC can continue to provide world-class leadership training to our members. RIC can be less dependent on foundations and grants. RIC can be a beacon for justice that shines across all barriers.
Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to become sustaining members of the Racine Interfaith Coalition. You may sign up at our website at:

In addition to our education features, we’ll be kicking off a series of stories highlighting how parents, students, and educators are adapting to the impact of COVID-19 on education.
