Residents interested in participating in an English learner tutoring program are invited to an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Lakeside COP House in Mount Pleasant. Members of the community who would benefit from a program at the COP house should plan to attend so the Racine Literacy Council can determine how many volunteer tutors are needed. “With a proven record of serving hundreds of adults each year, the Racine Literacy Council is excited about the possibility of extending services to the Mount Pleasant COP House,” the council said in a written statement. Anyone interested in an English Learner program can attend the meeting; they do not have to be a resident of Mount Pleasant. The COP house is located at 2237 Mead Street. Contact Officer Matt Prochaska or Margarita Fons for more information.
